Black Friday and Cyber Monday Can Be a Great Time for a New Laptop

Sep 29, 2021

It can be difficult to live life without a good laptop. Laptops are used for business and personal use. As more people than ever before transition away from large clunky desktops, laptops have taken the top spot when it comes to computers. However, of course, laptops are really expensive. It’s better if you can get a laptop on a deal.

Enter Black Friday and Cyber Monday. These shopping days are often the very best deals that you may see all year. Whether you’re buying for yourself or a present for someone you love, it’s typically pretty smart to shop the deals on Black Friday. Saving hundreds of dollars on quality electronics and computers is always a good thing.

Preparing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Despite Black Friday and Cyber Monday being all about splurging and impulse buying, the real way to save is to do some research. This is especially true of laptops. First off, no one wants to spend a large chunk of change and then not get all the features. Secondly, many companies can deceive you during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. While there may be deals advertised at several hundred dollars off, many times the prices are raised slowly leading up to the shopping holidays. This makes the deals look more impressive than they are.

Start by finding laptops with the fight features. It’s important to look for several models that will fit the bill. Why several? Because you might never know which are going to be on sale the most. From there, you need to determine the current prices of those laptops. Check several retailers and try to get a median retail price that can be used as a reference. From there, you can rank them if you like. As Black Friday approaches, compare your research prices against those being offered. This can allow you to make sure that you’re getting the best deal possible.

Popular Retailers and Laptops to Consider on Black Friday/Cyber Monday

Unsurprisingly, different retailers will offer up different deals for the shopping holidays. Everyone offers something, but not all deals are created equally.

If you are looking for a true top of the line computer, discounts aren’t always that impressive. In these cases, you can often find the best deals directly from companies like Dell, Lenovo or HP. When you’re looking for something in the mid tier, then you want to look at the big retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Target. These can offer cheap Chromebooks going up to mid tier gaming laptops at excellent prices.

One thing to consider is that Intel is about to widely release their 11th generation processor into laptops. What does this mean? It means that generation 10 is naturally going to be much less expensive. This will make windows machines likely more on sale than a comparable Macbook. That being said, it is possible the M-1 Macbooks will make it to wide availability, making the first gen cheaper as well.

Gaming laptops are a popular choice. It should be noted however that GPUs continue to be at near record costs thanks to crypto miners. The Nvidia 30-series cards are simply insane. If you can manage to get a gaming laptop featuring one, then you will be in luck. That being said, don’t mind settling if cost is a factor.
